Why The Tesla Model 3 Is So Popular

Everything Tesla has done in the past has been building towards the Model 3... and it's definitely been worth it.

In a previous article earlier in the year, “Electric cars coming to market in 2019” we predicted that the Tesla Model 3 would be one of the most popular cars available to the public this summer. We were correct. Elon Musks’ dream has well and truly become a reality, and we are seeing an increase in customers wanting to lease this fantastic all electric car. So, let’s look at why the Tesla Model 3 is so popular.

Tesla Model 3

UK customers who have purchased a Tesla Model 3 will soon get their hands on the car. Deliveries of the Model 3 car set to begin as versions of the car have been spotted being transported on British motorways. The Tesla Model 3 was first revealed in 2016 and took close to half a million reservations within a few months. The pre-ordered cars started to be delivered to customers in the US in July 2018, but UK customers have had to wait almost a year longer to receive theirs.

The Model 3 is fully electric, so you never need to visit a petrol station again. If you charge overnight at home, you can wake up to a full battery every morning. And when you’re on the road, it’s easy to plug in along the way, at any public service station or with the Tesla charging network. With the Model 3’s advanced lithium ion batteries and efficient powertrain, the Model 3 can deliver a respectable range of 258 miles for the Standard version car. Despite being considerably lower than its older sibling the Model S it’s still more than the majority of other more affordable electric cars on sale today. A Nissan Leaf, for comparison is capable of up to 107 miles on a 30kWh battery whilst the range for a BMW i3 with the optional range extender is 180 miles

Tesla has not produced a slow car yet, and the Model 3 looks set to carry on the legacy. With a top speed of 140mph and an official 0-60mph time of 5.3s, the standard version of the all-electric car can certainly mix-it with its petrol-powered rivals and is roughly matched in speed by the BMW 330i. And for those worrying that this car is too “pedestrian” for their flashy needs, creator Elon Musk confirmed in 2016 that the Model 3 will have its own version of Tesla’s “ludicrous mode” which is more proof that this car can do just about anything you need it to.

Every new Model 3 comes standard with advanced hardware capable of providing Autopilot features today, and full self-driving capabilities in the future, which are constantly provided through software updates designed to improve functionality over time. Autopilot enables your car to steer, accelerate and brake automatically within its lane, it takes a bit of getting used to, but once you feel you can trust the technology then you can take full advantage of this futuristic feature. Full Self-Driving Capability introduces additional features and improves existing functionality to make your car more capable over time. The interior of the Model 3 is unlike any other car. Focusing on their minimalist approach, you can use your smartphone as a key, and access all driver controls in the central 15-inch touchscreen. The all-glass roof extends from front to back, creating a sense of openness from every seat. The interior of all Tesla cars seems to be the area in which the customer focuses on, the endless amounts of updates and gadgets available will no doubt keep you entertained. There’s everything you can possibly need, from being able to control the heating of each seat, to being able to play old school classics like space invaders and even having a built in Whoopee cushion to entertain the family

Yes, in comparison to the Model 3’s older brother the Model X, it is smaller, however that was expected and what it lacks in size it makes up for in many other areas. Performance wise, the model 3 outclasses any of its rivals and with an array of charging capabilities and varied range, you can see why it is outselling it’s electric rivals like the Jaguar iPace. If you are looking into leasing one of these wonderful cars, then look through our offers, or contact us and we will endeavour to find you the best deal available. Join us in the electric car revolution with a new Tesla Model 3.
